Trams

Trams are convenient for city sightseeing and to go to JR Kochi station, Harimayabashi and Kochi Castle. Tosa-Dentetsu has been in operation for 100 years and is called “Toden” by the locals. Old-fashioned style trams and a new imported style from Germany can be seen. The trams run from east to west to connect with Nankoku City, Gomen and Ino cho.

No smoking:
Most public space is smoke free.
Japanese inns:
Take your shoes off at the entrance. Ti ps are not necessary for hotels and inns.
Hotsprings:
It is the same custom as for public baths - rinse your body before entering the big bathtub.

Public phone are of two kinds, green and grey. Grey is for international calls. You can purchase international telephone cards at stations or convenience stores.

You can find these in many locations also providing postal and fax services.

Tap water is safe to drink and plenty of bottled water is available.
